Village Hall and Police Station

Village Hall and Police Station MRB Group designed a plan for the Village of Seneca Falls to relocate the Village and Police Offices to an abandoned railroad depot previously used as a machine shop. (An active railroad line is located 20 feet from the building.) Our challenge was to design renovations for the existing structure along with a 1,000 square foot Police Department addition that would complement the depot’s original architectural style, office space layout plans, and site improvements.

We brought the original entrance to the depot back to its original condition and developed an additional entrance opposite a new parking area. The new entrance and an interior corridor link together the Village offices, courtroom, and police offices. MRB Group recommended and designed a sloped roof over a 1950’s flat roof to connect the existing portion of the building with the new structure.

MRB Group was awarded a Citation of Merit from the Rochester Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for completing this historic building evaluation, renovation, and restoration for the Village of Seneca Falls
