Wheatland Joint Municipal Facility
MRB Group provided master planning and design services for a joint municipal facility in the Village of Scottsville.
- Phase I was to relocate the Fire Department to a newly constructed Fire Hall.
- Phase II was to upgrade the existing building to accommodate new Town/Village offices and a Senior Center for the entire community.
We started the plans to upgrade the existing building in the Spring of 2005 and presented the project to voters for approval soon after. MRB Group then developed various design elements that led to the start of construction in July 2006.
MRB Group’s design alters the entire interior of the building to include a new layout of the existing space and an expansion into the vacated area previously occupied by the Fire Department. The building, at approximately 14,200 square feet, now houses:
- Senior Center with kitchen,
- Record storage that allows the Clerk to store everything under one roof rather than scattered throughout town
- Office space for Town personnel, Village officials, the Sheriff, Judge, and Court Clerk
- Board room/conference room
- Break room
- Work room
- Restrooms
In addition to the interior renovations, MRB Group designed exterior modifications to the front of the building and rear access to change the building’s appearance from a “garage look” to an attractive facade and nice focal point for the community.
