Spencerport Canal Side Improvements
Following the development of a Comprehensive Plan to revitalize the Erie Canal shoreline in the Village of Spencerport, MRB Group provided design, permitting, and construction stakeout, coordination, and inspection services to install boating docks for this canal side improvement project. Drawing details were prepared for a pump-out station and dock, and boardwalk/dock while Village forces took care of construction efforts with sub-contracted specialty labor.
MRB Group worked closely with the NYS Thruway Authority/Canal Corporation, NYSDEC, and USACOE to obtain the necessary approvals and satisfy their requirements. The project scope also included assistance with fundraising efforts and coordination with a local architect for the design of the Clyde Carter Memorial Gazebo.
Most recently, MRB Group completed the concept design for a pedestrian urban pathway to link marine facilities with Urban Park along the canal and Town Park via tunnel way. The concept design included a park layout, pedestrian tunnel design, and restroom facilities. A grant application was submitted to NYS Offi ce of Parks and Recreation.
