Salt Storage Facility
MRB Group helped the Town of Canandaigua with planning and site layout for their new salt storage facility. We coordinated the project with Advanced Storage Technologies, Inc. who patented the design.
The salt storage facility features a Hi-Arch Gambrel with enough clearance for tractor-trailers to dump directly inside throughout the entire length of the building. This allows the user to deliver, mix, store, and load salt and sand undercover, which saves money for the Town of Canandaigua.
Other benefits of dumping inside include:
- Eliminating double-handling, run-off, salt loss, and pollution.
- Keeping the salt and sand dry prevents equipment damage caused by wet and frozen material, which reduces the need for repairs..
