The Village of Spencerport hired MRB Group to help evaluate several options to upgrade and expand its existing waste water treatment facility. Based on the evaluations, the Village Board chose to construct a pump station and forcemain to convey Spencerport’s sewage to Monroe County Pure Waters.
Construction, operation and maintenance costs for the pump station were all lower than the upgrade alternative. The project includes decommissioning the existing waste water treatment facility by 2008.
The pump station will contain a total of five dry pit pumps and will discharge to two parallel forcemains designed to handle flow parameters from low-end to peak. Each forcemain will have a service and high flow pump assigned, while a redundant high flow pump will be manifolded in the pipe network.
The pump station will include:
• Necessary controls and meters
• Variable frequency drives
• Backup generator
• Odor control facilities
• Chemical addition facilities
• Dual wet wells
• Sewage grinder
