MRB Designs Upgrade to Mansfield Waste Water Treatment Plant

(Horseheads, NY) June 16, 2009 – MRB Group recently completed design of an environmentally friendly plan to update a wastewater treatment plant in Mansfield, Pennsylvania.  Using existing structures and components at the treatment plant, the design employs state of the art technology involving a membrane bioreactor process. Upon completion, the new wastewater treatment plant will meet requirements for nutrient removal that have been established by the Chesapeake Bay Agreement.  These nutrient reduction requirements will help to contain algae growth and will contribute to a healthier ecosystem.  The new improvements and upgrades will also increase the service capacity of the treatment plant which will support further economic development in the Borough of Mansfield, and the Townships of Putnam and Richmond. This project will help to sustain existing employment in the area and facilitate the creation of new jobs.
