MRB Group President Ryan Colvin recently announced that Emily Palumbos has received a promotion to both Director of Grants and Director of Senior Management Administration.  She has been working with the firm since 2016.

“Emily’s background in State government gave her a tremendous understanding of the resources needed by local governments,” said Colvin.  “Her assistance to our client communities in seeking out grant funding for municipal operations and capital projects has proven to be invaluable,” he stated.

Palumbos will continue to work with MRB Group’s Rochester team in a new, enhanced role, serving as a liaison for the firm’s executive officers and Principals.  Her previous experience as Chief of Staff to Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb prepared her for this critical support function and leadership position.

Palumbos’ success with grant writing throughout the 2016 Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process enabled several client communities to receive financial support for key projects.  She worked with a team at MRB Group to manage the 2017 CFA submittals for more than 30 communities.

“When communities cannot afford to maintain infrastructure, residents suffer,” said Colvin.  “Emily is helping our local governments secure much needed funding for critical projects,” he stated.

Colvin explained that the blend of Palumbos’ dual roles was created with client services in mind.  “Working with senior management will allow Emily to be fully engaged with clients and better understand their needs.  She will be directly involved in strategic planning for funding resources,” he said.
