Where We've Been

MRB Group is one of the longest established professional Engineering and Architectural firms in the Monroe County Area. MRB Group was formed in 1985 from the merger of Hershey, Malone, & Associates (originated in 1969 in Rochester, NY) and Harnish & Lookup Associates (based in Newark, NY since 1936). The evolution of the company dates back to 1927 and our growth is highlighted below:

• 1927―The original engineering and surveying firm, Meloy Smith Engineers, was organized.
• 1960—Kenneth H. Hershey joined in partnership with Meloy Smith to form Smith & Hershey Consulting Engineers.
• 1966—Anthony J. Malone became a partner in the growing organization and Smith, Hershey, Malone & Norton was formed.
• 1969—Expansion and reorganization of the firm lead to the creation of Hershey, Malone & Associates, Consulting Engineers.
• 1982—The firm diversified and became Hershey, Malone & Associates, Engineers and Architects.
• 1985—MRB Group Engineering, Architecture, Surveying, P.C. was formed from the merger of Hershey, Malone & Associates and Harnish & Lookup Associates.
• 2004—A new Board of Directors was appointed, completing the generational transition to the current management team.

Where We're Going

Our desire to grow and provide a more diverse set of technical services is the driving force behind our decision to open new offices and establish new service groups. MRB Group now has several offices serving the Northeast U.S. and an office serving the South Central U.S.

MRB Group’s full spectrum of services now includes major areas of Engineering, Architecture, GIS Services, and Construction Management. Together with our highly committed teams and advanced technology, these expanding services have allowed us to extend beyond New York State into Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and Texas.
